Parkland's Art Gallery officially opened its doors in 1981 and is open to the public free of charge. Each year through exhibitions and programming, the gallery seeks to promote the development of artists' talent and aesthetic awareness while at the same time exapanding the audience's appreciation of various art forms. Centrally located on Parkland's campus, the gallery overlooks the beautifully landscaped lawns and features a professionally designed space with floor to ceiling windows on the interior. On August 21, 2014, the gallery was renamed to honor Parkland trustee and former faculty member Donna Giertz.
