There are many different "table top" gamer groups, and each one acts like it's own tribe. Table top games require social interaction as a means of participation. To be a gamer means that you are part of a like-minded community, creating a group in which one can feel included, safe, and supported. As a participant observer, the author observes the different gamer tribes: the board game tribe, the miniatures tribe, the role play tribe, and the deck building tribe.
