Description
The author identifies several women that exemplify the "warrior women" spirit, each of whom fight oppression in various contexts. the life of Malala Yousafzai, author Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical representation in Persepolis, and poet June Jordan's works are specifically featured, along with characters Imperator Furiosa from the film Mad Max: Fury Road and "No-Name Woman" featured in Maxine Hong Kingston's The Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts.
