Description

This essay summarizes the author’s observations of the audience and performers of an improv group and puts their reactions in the context of different types of humor (deadpan, epigrammatic, and blue). Notes that current film productions seem to gravitate toward more blue humor leading to the conclusion that audiences may prefer it. Nevertheless, the performance, which was more comparable to a 1950’s situation comedy, still left the audience entertained.
