Abstract
This group discussion class activity for Anthropology 101 focuses on the topics of nation building, ethnocentrism, naturalizing discourses, and cultural relativism. In addition to the course text, the activity uses: Howard, Kevin, ‘National Identity, Moral Panic and East European Folk Devils’, in Globalization, Migration and Social Transformation: Ireland in Europe and the World, ed. by Bryan Fanning and Ronald Munck (Farnham, UK and Burlington, USA: Ashgate, 2011), pp.169-181.
