Faculty from the Social Science and Human Services Department at Parkland College participated in a year-long project to improve the pedagogical materials offered in their core courses regarding global issues, drawing from scholarship on the European Union, as well as Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia.
This project is funded by the Center for Global Studies, the European Union Center , and the Russian, East European and Eurasian Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with Title IV funds. During the Fall 2018 semester, participating faculty members enrolled in EDU 931: Instructional Design, offered by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, which provided faculty with resources for designing new content and discovering new material. Modified courses in Anthropology, Criminal Justice, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology were delivered to students for the Spring 2019 semester.
