This project is funded by the Center for Global Studies, the European Union Center , the Russian, East European and Eurasian Center and the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with Title IV funds. During the Spring 2020 semester, a new initiative was piloted with Parkland's Honors Program where four students wrote Honors Projects for History and Sociology courses that had been redesigned to promote global studies under this same initiative in the previous academic year. After the pivot online of all classes nationwide due to the Covid-19 pandemic this past Spring, eight Social Sciences faculty enrolled in EDU 914: Best Practices in Online Teaching and Learning, offered by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Faculty enrolled in the class will apply innovative tools and techniques to their courses, that will continue to teach students about global issues and the world areas of the centers that promote this initiative. Faculty in the 2019-2020 cohort teach a number of different courses in Anthropology, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
