Abstract
Research reveals several skills that help students succeed in college. I would research diagnostic tools that show our students’ skill levels and create evidence-based activities that augment them. I would also revise the Psy101 program to improve our students’ skills for success. I would share these tools with Parkland partners (e.g., CETL, FYE101, Learning Commons, Academic Advising) to enhance student outcomes. This will significantly contribute to my professional growth and renewal by allowing me to return to research, gain scholarly knowledge, narrow the achievement gap, and contribute to the cognitive science of teaching and learning in the APA, Division 2.
